Content and Evaluation
It is made of 7 units, containing 2 to 4 short videos each (the syllabus is below). The units end with a quiz made of 5 multiple choice questions. You need to have at least 3 questions correct out of 5 (60%) in each quiz to pass the course. The good news is that you are allowed to try more than once. In between, you will be asked a question after most videos which are not graded.
The course ends with a final assessment made of 10 questions requiring short answers. For this final assessment, you are allowed only one submission. The passing grade is 60% (6 correct answers out of 10).
The points on the right corners of the questions correspond to their value on your total score (out of 100%).
When you are finished with the course, you can download a certificate which is automatically generated by Google. You should be aware that the name you enter when you register is the one that will appear on the certificate. To get a certificate with the GJU logo, you need to do the intermediate course.
Intermediate and Advanced Courses
This first course is completely free and aims at providing eye care professionals with less access to training a basic understanding of low vision. We are currently designing a second online course, the Intermediate Course on Low Vision Rehabilitation. It will require you to complete long assignments for which you will get feedback from low vision specialists. If you are interested, you need to 1) successfully complete the Basic Course and 2) pay a 50 USD fee. For more details, check the webpage: https://online-course-gju.appspot.com/low_vision_rehab_2/course.
The Advanced Course will not be offered online but on site, at the Vision Training Center in Amman, Jordan. For more information follow this link.
